Quantum Hotspots: Mean Fields, Open EFTs, Nonlocality and Decoherence Near Black Holes

چکیده

Effective theories describing black hole exteriors resemble open quantum systems inasmuch as many unmeasurable degrees of freedom beyond the horizon interact with those we can see. A solvable Caldeira-Leggett type model a field that mixes unmeasured thermal on shared surface was proposed in arXiv:2106.09854 to provide benchmark against which more complete calculations might be compared. We here use this test two types field-theoretic approximation schemes also lend themselves behaviour: Open EFT techniques (as applied fields themselves, rather than Unruh-DeWitt detectors) and mean-field methods. Mean-field methods are interest because effective Hamiltonians they lead nonlocal; possible source for nonlocality is sometimes entertained being holes near-horizon regime. EFTs compute evolution state, allowing discussion thermalization decoherence even when these occur at such late times perturbative fail often do). Applying both system identifies their domains validity shows how predictions relate garden-variety tools.

General Nonlocality in Quantum Fields

The natural recognition of quantum nonlocality follows from the fact that a quantum wave is spatially extended. The waves of fermions display nonlocality in low energy limit of quantum fields. In this ab initio paper we propose a complex-geometry model that reveals the affection of nonlocality on the interaction between material particles of spin-1/2. To make nonlocal properties appropriately i...

Decoherence of black holes by Hawking radiation.

We discuss in detail the semiclassical approximation for the CGHS model of two-dimensional dilatonic black holes. This is achieved by a formal expansion of the full Wheeler-DeWitt equation and the momentum constraint in powers of the gravitational constant. In highest order, the classical CGHS solution is recovered. The next order yields a functional Schrödinger equation for quantum fields prop...

Quantum evolution of near-extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes

We study the near-horizon AdS2×S geometry of evaporating near-extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes interacting with null matter. The non-local (boundary) terms t±, coming from the effective theory corrected with the quantum Polyakov-Liouville action, are treated as dynamical variables. We describe analytically the evaporation process which turns out to be compatible with the third law of the...

Charged black holes from near extremal black holes

We recover the properties of a wide class of far from extremal charged black branes from properties of near extremal black branes, generalizing the results of Danielsson, Guijosa and Kruczenski.

Test of quantum nonlocality for cavity fields

There have been studies on formation of quantum-nonlocal states in spatially separate two cavities. We suggest a nonlocal test for the field prepared in the two cavities. We couple classical driving fields with the cavities where a nonlocal state is prepared. Two independent two-level atoms are then sent through respective cavities to interact off-resonantly with the cavity fields. The atomic s...
